James Cameron's original Terminator films established a specific apocalyptic palette: the blue-grey rubble of a nuclear future, the warm amber of the present under threat. The endoskeleton's chrome against darkness, the red eye that never dies. Subsequent sequels have returned to this vocabulary with varying success, but the original's grammar, future cold and present warm, remains the franchise's visual foundation.
