Frequently asked questions

General

What is Color in Film?

We extract and arrange the dominant colors from iconic films into beautiful art prints. Each piece is a visual study of a film's color palette — a new way to appreciate the art of cinematography.

How are the colors extracted?

We sample thousands of frames across the entire runtime of each film. Our process identifies the 80 most prominent and visually defining colors, then arranges them into a print that captures the film's complete color identity.

Where are your prints made?

Our prints are produced by a local print partner in California on archival-quality heavyweight paper. We work closely with them to ensure color accuracy and print quality on every order.

Can I request a film?

We're always adding new films to the collection. If there's a film you'd love to see, send us a note through our contact form and we'll do our best to add it.

Shipping

How long will it take to get my order?

Since every print is made to order, please allow 3–5 business days for production. After that, most domestic (US) orders arrive within 5–7 business days depending on the shipping method selected at checkout.

Do you ship internationally?

We're currently focused on domestic (US) shipping. International shipping is something we're exploring — if you're outside the US and interested, reach out and we'll see what we can do. hello@colorinfilm.com

Returns, Exchanges & Cancellations

Can I cancel my order?

We allow cancellation within 24 hours of placing the order, as long as it hasn't entered production yet. If you'd like to cancel, please email us immediately with your order number. hello@colorinfilm.com

Can I make a return?

Because each print is made to order, we're unable to accept returns unless an item arrives damaged. If that happens, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order with your order number and a photo of the damage. hello@colorinfilm.com
