The Bourne series established a visual grammar for the 2000s action thriller that influenced the entire genre. Desaturated, handheld, grey European cities rendered in cold blues and drained browns. Paul Greengrass and Oliver Wood created a palette that felt like surveillance footage, like the world seen through the eyes of someone who trusts nothing and watches everything. The color itself became a form of paranoia.
