James Gunn's Guardians films brought the brightest, most unabashedly colorful palette in the MCU. The cosmic settings allowed full chromatic freedom: the pink and purple of Knowhere, the gold of the Sovereign, the warm amber of Peter Quill's memory. Where other Marvel films tempered their color, Guardians leaned into it as character, the vivid palette reflecting a team of outsiders who refuse to take the universe's darkness at face value.
