Leigh's improvisatory method extends to his visual style. His films look like the world, lit as the world is lit. Within that naturalism, his DPs have given his work remarkable visual texture: the cold blues of Naked's London night, the warm rehearsal-room amber of Topsy-Turvy, the period golds of Mr. Turner's oil-paint light.
