Reichardt's films inhabit the natural world with unusual fidelity. Her Oregon landscapes are painted in available light, the greens and browns and greys of the Pacific Northwest without romanticism or excess. Wendy and Lucy's wan daylight, First Cow's misty river mornings, Certain Women's winter Montana. She photographs the world as it is and finds that sufficient.
