Fincher's palette is among the most controlled in contemporary cinema. A permanent commitment to desaturated, slightly greenish tones that suggest a world drained of warmth. Se7en established it: rain-soaked browns, flickering fluorescent yellows, shadows that eat everything. Gone Girl and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo refined it further. Even his domestic scenes feel like color has been surgically removed.
